YOUTH CENTER «A STEP TOWARDS INDEPENDENCE»

The need for training fatherless young adults to independent living was brought by the difficulties of adapting to the world due to the individual traits of a child, who has suffered a number of losses, has a lack of social competence and support from the community.

Our service is based on a lively cooperation between a teenager/young adult and a mentor, where the foundation of the friendship are the needs, interests of the youth, as well as the development of skills and abilities necessary for independent living.

At the youth center, young adults learn practical social and life skills, receive orientation towards employment and higher education.

Our goals is to help a young adult build a bridge into an independent life, mentor to cope with everyday difficulties and  problems, and at the same time, teach them to make their own decisions because it is not our territory.

Equally important, is our work among the graduates, who live outside of Otchiy Dim today.
